Nia Williams

I live on the west coast of British Columbia on a lovely little island in the Salish Sea. With over 25 years of experience as an educator, I have learned the value of listening closely, noticing what matters, and holding space for others.

Typewriter Poetry grew from my love of words and the joy of connecting with people in the moment. With a vintage typewriter and a few minutes of quiet conversation, I create poems that capture a memory, a feeling, or an experience—something that can be carried long after the encounter. This practice is as much about listening as it is about writing—a pause, a noticing, an opening to what stirs beneath the surface. Each poem is typed with care, a simple thread that touches something true, real, and unforgettable.
